Marantz has offered its top of the line Reference Series for about ten years. The gear is built like a tank and the new models are so strong that we’ve opted to bring most of them in! Various units are dribbling in as supply is available.

 

Marantz has two factories in Asia. The Reference Series is made in their plant in Japan. The main line is made in their plant in China. Both lines are built by Marantz, not vendored to generic job houses. The fit and finish of the Ref Series is exquisite! It comes with a five year warranty.

 

Sonically, the Ref Series has a very big bloom to the sound. Literally every piece in the line has that rich bodied, dynamic sound. The CD players also play stereo SACD. If you haven’t heard them, you should. SACD is a format that hasn’t had wide commercial acceptance (but MP3 has, take what you will from that!) but if you go to the trouble… you’ll be blown away!
