"The Chair"

We needed a new “portable” chair. We needed something that we can move room to room as the demo situation demands. Our Bryston directors chairs are long gone. They couldn’t stand up to the … abuse.

Debbie found a nice chair that is light, portable and attractive for us. It looked good. But until we gave it a test ride, we couldn’t be sure.

First up was Jacques. At 5-6 and 160 lbs, Jacques settled into the chair easily and pronounced it fine.

Next up, me (Dave),  At 5-10 and 165 lbs, it fit like a glove. I was quite happy with it.

But Jacques and I commented that we settled just a tad low. It wasn’t really a problem for us, but, we noticed it. What if we got a real heavyweight into the chair?   Yo Glenn!

Now the acid test. We brought Glenn in, all 6-2 and 225 lbs of him. We shuddered a bit as he sat in the chair and it rocked back a bit. But it didn’t crack. It didn’t groan. Glenn said it is comfortable. It passes the test!

We figure it has to last longer than the directors chairs that no longer could sustain Glenn. Jacques took them home.
