We just heard from a vendor who had a pallet full of gear stolen at a recent trade show. The vendor won’t allow us to publish who they are. You’ll see why.

This gear is popping up for sale on various web sites, as demos, used, or even factory sealed gear. The thieves probably don’t know, or care, that the vendor keeps track of serial numbers.

YOU do need to know, and care, about where you procure your gear. The manufacturer is trying to buy this gear to find out the source of the theft. They’re actively chasing the crook(s) and have made some headway. If the manufacturer or one of its dealers gets its hands on a stolen piece, it will be confiscated. We are required to inform the manufacturer if we see any of its gear for trade or service.
