Its been several months since
B&W announced the CM-1 was on the way. Weve been anxiously waiting!
Why? B&W has ALWAYS made a
fine sounding, small, attractive cut above mini monitor type speaker. We
dont mean a nice entry level speaker, but something more like the venerable Rogers
LS 3/5a without the power limitations and $1500pr price point.
B&W discontinued the CM-2
about last fall. It was a fine speaker and the CM-1 replacement has been due in for some
time. At long last, its here!
CM-1 will not disappoint you!
Its almost tiny at 11h, 6 1/2w, 11d. That makes it a fair chunk smaller
than its predecessor, CM-2. It comes in three beautiful, real wood finishes. Rosenut,
Maple & Wenge. How could you pass on a great sounding mini monitor in Wenge?! What
color is Wenge? Most of us think it looks like walnut with a very interesting black grain
pattern.
Heres a speaker just a shade
bigger than all the plastic stuff out there that has tremendous detail and imaging. The
bass isnt shabby either. It features a 5 Kev mid/woofer and 1 Alum
Nautilus tweeter. Hence if youre looking for a highly resolving speaker in a very
small size, CM-1 is worth your audition!
