For several years various competitors
have been marketing lifestyle speakers. Among the most attractive are silver
looking towers, bookshelf models, centers & subs. The tower is the XT-4. It is the ideal
L&R front speaker for your DLP or plasma system when you need a floor stander. The
cabinet is made of cast aluminum and weighs in at 50 lbs each. It is further distinguished
from its competition in that it uses a 5 Kev mid, 5 Kev/Pulp Fibre Woof, and 1
Alum Nautilus tweet with open air mounting. The style is sleek as you can see. It
looks like B&O made it! But sounds like B&W made it! 44 3/4h, 6w, 7 7/8d. The bookshelf model is XT-2. You could use it for R&L front and/or rear. Its a perfect match cosmetically and sonically for the XT-4. It uses a 5 Kev mid/woof and the same Nautilus tweet of XT-4. XT-2 is also very solid weighing in at 11 lbs. 12 3/8h, 6w, 7 7/8d. Matching stands run
$350pr and raise the speaker to 27 5/8h.
XT-C is the matching center channel speaker. It can be used as a
center or three across the front. The drivers are shielded. XT-C uses two 5 Kev
mid/woofs and the 1 Nautilus tweeter. This guy is quite a chunk of steel weighing
19lbs. PV-1 Sub $1600
The bowling ball sub is also a sturdy performer. At 46
pounds, 13 1/4h, 11 3/8w and 13 3/4d the PV-1 uses unique technology.
There are dual, opposing 8 Aluminum woofs and a 500 watt
amp. The sound is solid and tight. This isnt a thunderboomer. It is quite controlled
for real music and movie lovers.
PV-1 is available in silver, black or white.
