CD Player: McIntosh MCD-500

   This Mac CD player plays SACDs and Red Book CDs. You also have access to its state of the art DACs/Line Stage with other digital sources! Hence in one unit you’ve got as good a disc spinner as you can buy, and all your other digital sources will get better by piggy backing!

Preamp: McIntosh C-50 Stereo Preamp

   This is Mac’s top of the line solid state, stereo preamp in one chassis. If you go north of the C-50 you incorporate their three chassis designs. The C-50 features MM phono, 8 inputs and an 8 band EQ network to dial in your sound.

Power Amp: McIntosh MC-452 Stereo Power Amp

   At 450 w/ch the MC-452 will drive any speaker out there to its potential. If for some reason you don’t think 450x2 is enough, you can run two MC-452s as monoblocks and you’ll have 900w/ch! That ought to do it! But we’ve priced it here with one. We think that is enough!

Speakers: B&W 800Ds $24,000pr

  The 800D is the reference monitor speaker at Abbey Road in London and LucasFilms in California. If they’re good enough for them….

Interconnect Cables: Kimber Kable KCAG, 1m $860ea in XLR config

The KCAG is Kimber’s classic Silver interconnect. You need one from the MCD-500 to the C-46. You need another from the C-46 to the MC-402 power amp.
