MARANTZ NEWS!New Surround Receivers Each fall Marantz spruces up its line.
Weve just received the new receivers. There are four models especially worth crowing
about! Keep in mind Marantz offers a THREE year
warranty, parts and labor- and does NOT use fans! SR-4002 $600 (80wx7) SR-4002 is just beginning to ship. Its
a nice step above entry level receivers that the evil empire is selling out
there. With a legit 80x7 horsepower and Component Uplink (HDMI pass through) this is a
very nice value! Second zone out (same source) and spkrs B. SR-5002 $800 (90wx7) SR-5002 is the best receiver Marantz has had
at this price range. This 28 pound model sounds much stronger than its 80w predecessor and
new little brother. The amplifiers in this guy (all discrete) have more attack and
control. Its a nice step up from last years offering. Its got most of
the gizmos you would expect including HDMI, but its the sound that makes SR-5002
special for the money. It has second zone out (any source)- to allow
you to use another amp to run your house system, while using SR-5001 as your
brain and theater receiver. SR-7002 $1500 (110x7) SR-7002 is a tank! This 34 pound receiver has
enough muscle to drive (up to and including) B&Ws 700 Series speakers. The
amplifiers in this design are of a higher grade than SR-5002 above. So while SR-5002 is
comfortable with B&W 600 Series and below, we recommend SR-7002 if you can swing it-
more for the quality of sound than the sheer power. SR-7002 has a few more connections than
SR-5002, but your main consideration in moving up is horsepower and the HDMI uplink
feature. SR-8002 $2100 (125x7) SR-8002 is a battleship! This 40 pound
receiver is the audiophile choice. With dual layer copper chassis, RFI resistance is top
notch on the SR-8002. In addition to more ins
and outs (featuring zone 3), SR-8002 is fully at home driving the best of speakers in a
theater config. The IPOD Dock $200 Marantz has a nice way to tie your IPOD into
a REAL music system! DV-4001 $330 Now in! This new cost effective DVD player
has HDMI with upscaling (1080i, 720p, 480p). Its built much more solidly than its
predecessor, which was a tremendously successful DVD player! This is a very sweet value,
built out of metal instead of plastic with 3 yr war! AUDIO EMPORIUM.COM |
