Marantz BD-7003 Blu-Ray Disc Player $800

A few months back Marantz introduced its BD-8002 Blu-ray disc player for $2000. It has quickly become our industry’s standard of best build and highest quality performance. It is the ONLY Blu-ray player on the market to have a three year warranty, which is comforting on any relatively new technology and model. We’ve already sold a pile of BD-8002s and had NO bad ones. Our customers have been as pleased as we are with the performance.

The BD-8002 now has a little brother, BD-7003. BD-7003 runs $800 and has just arrived! Like the BD-8002, BD-7003 is built solidly and has a three year warranty!

BD-8002 has a few features that BD-7003 doesn’t. Do these features matter to you? BD-8002 has a slightly superior video circuit. BD-8002 has high def Blu-ray audio codecs built in with 7.1 analog outs. BD-7003 doesn’t. BD-8002 has RS-232 control, BD-7003 doesn’t.

For our customers who have receivers or preamp processors with the hi def audio codecs built in, you may feel BD-7003 is close enough to justify saving a few bucks.

Zu Audio Credenzas, Piano Black, Now In Stock! $2200pr

We’ve had the Zu Druid, $3400pr, on hand for a few months now. You can check our prior newsletters or Zu Audio’s site to get more details.

The Credenza is a new Zu bookshelf speaker. It isn’t a cut rate Druid. It is the same design in a smaller enclosure meant to be mounted on a shelf or table. It has the identical character of sound as Druid does, sans a little bass.

The Credenza has an incredibly detailed, dynamic & unboxy sound. They have respectable bass, but not thunderous bass. This makes them a great choice for a home office or less than Herculean sized listening room. You CAN add various subwoofers to muscle them up. But we’re thinking most Credenza buyers will just love them for the stunning detail they offer. You may even use them in the near field, in which they’re illuminating!
