Bryston contracted Axiom to build its speakers a decade ago. The project was an immediate success and the companies merged. The resulting company is simply called Bryston.

Bryston is using the Axiom banner to bring speakers and electronics to market that are outstanding- yet under the price and power levels reserved for the Bryston brand.

Axiom speakers are built in Canada with a 5 year warranty.

Axiom M-3 Bookshelf Speakers

M-3 is a smooth, rich sounding bookshelf speaker. M-3 shares much of Bryston’s DNA and is scaled back from its more powerful brother, Bryston’s Tiny A. Tiny A is the same size but has a more powerful 6.5, superior cabinet and crossover components.

Up until now, the class leader at this price point has been the Klipsch RP600v2. To hit the price point, K builds its speakers in China. K’s sonic fingerprint is brighter and fatter than Axiom. The Klipsch has a smile curve. M-3 is more neutral and realistic sounding.

With M-3 we have a more mellow sounding monitor, made in Canada! Bryston’s Tiny A is more precise and handles greater power levels yet.

M-3’s impedance swing is at 8 ohms and above, which makes it very easy to drive. The Klipsch runs down to 5.3 ohms which isn’t heinous by any means, but it’s tougher on a garden variety amp than M-3.

If you can go north to a grand, of course you should buy Bryston’s full bore, higher powered model Tiny A. It has higher power handling, dynamic range, and even deeper bass with more precise imaging- along with a 20 year warranty. Bryston’s more rigid cabinetry with superior bracing and stronger drive elements take you to to a notch higher resolution.

If you’re considering speakers under a grand, please let me twist your arm to buy the Axiom M-3. You’ll be getting a better sounding speaker, with great support, made in N America.

Let’s quit supporting the shouty and more skimpy speakers spit out from job houses on the other side of the globe. They’re stealing our jobs, money and providing worse sound while laughing at us.

How are they laughing at us? Almost ALL of the Chinese imports tell us the MSRP is X, and yet they’re always “on sale” at 20% or so off. Let’s not kid anyone. That MSRP is simply a trick, pandering to our gullibility of wanting a good deal.
