Bryston A110 Speaker Array: $2100

Bryston’s A110 speaker array at just over two grand, makes the world of Chinese imports sound demure.

Please don’t settle for a cute box, made 6500 miles away from Milwaukee, that comes over on a slow boat. The same outfit that makes brand A today, makes brand B tomorrow and brand C the next. A myriad of different logos appear on the boxes that roll out their doors.

Speakers made in job houses on the other side of the globe simply don’t have the sophistication and reliability of A110. There’s no way they can deliver the DEEP IMPACT and smoothness of A110, much less for $2100.

Tiny A $890 Per Pair: 20 Year Warranty!

Bryston’s A110 starts with Bryston’s Tiny A, stand mount speakers. The Tiny As are in no way tiny. Tiny A is a 6.5” 2-way with exquisite construction and a 20 year warranty.

Tiny A only gives way to its bigger brothers in horse power. Don’t worry, we’ll address that below- and make it a STRENGTH with A110.

Tiny A uses a 6.5” Anodized Aluminum bass/mid driver. It is a contiguous aluminum material that moves in a linear fashion and doesn’t break up or flex as it plays. It isn’t plastic, paper, or a sandwich of materials that can twist or wrinkle while it plays music.

Further, it isn’t a material, even something expensive like graphene, bonded with another, typically magnesium. The imports are inclined to use woven fabric midrange drivers, which have been much surpassed in the last decade or two. They also dream up pretentious marketing names like “Aerofoil” for their woofers- which is actually Styrofoam sandwiched by paper sheets.

Tiny A uses Bryston’s Titanium tweeter. It is light and handles loads of power. That’s why Bryston can provide a 20 year warranty! It sounds smooth instead of grainy. Bryston’s high end response is Steinway Smooth. It will please fussy classical listeners, as well as audiophiles who love jazz and classic rock. They’re tough as nails and musically effulgent.

D110 Powered Subwoofer

The D110 subwoofer is a super star, made near Ft. Lauderdale by JL for this package.

D110 has a cast frame driver that is so substantial that it literally wouldn’t fit in any $2k towers. Its construction is unique and delivers powerful bass with big time impact- that will leave the $2k imports sounding like pop guns instead of cannons.

*D110 has a ten inch, cast frame, deep, HEAVY driver

JL-E110 driver

*D110’s woofer is melded into a one 1.5″ thick, heavy metal frame baffle. Literally all competitors just take their drivers and use 8 screws to affix them to a soft chipboard front board of MDF. Not only are their drivers flimsy, there is significant transmission loss with the minimal driver to cabinet interface.

*D110 is a sealed system. It delivers deep, tight bass and can ABSOLUTELY drop the hammer. It isn’t ported and won’t chuff. It never sounds like it’s working its fanny off.

*D110 has a 750w, RMS power amp on board. It is made specifically to provide tight grip for D110. It isn’t a “plate amp” purchased off the shelf from a generic vendor- mated with “any” driver out of a parts bin.

The A110 sounds open & airy, yet not bright. They cast a broad image with a strong center. By adding the sub, you’ve now achieved bass that will make other two grand-ish speakers run for cover!

It’s time to stand up to highly promoted offerings with fancy advertising campaigns. You can do much better with the Bryston A110 array.
