All Amphion speakers are made in Finland with a TLC you can’t get from mass production in Asia. Note the concave Waveguide that supports the Titanium tweeter. The Waveguide creates a controlled floodlight pattern of dispersion. There isn’t just one seat in the house, dead center on the couch. H520 also uses two 5.25” bass/mids of pulp fiber. The image is tall and wide. It’s uncanny how LARGE the image is that H520 casts.
The bass is well balanced. It’s tight, but not THICK or muddy. You’ll hear bass in the music, but it isn’t pulverizing to you or your neighbors. H520’s detail is remarkable! If doesn’t take a back seat to big expensive speakers in definition. It gives you clarity and music nuance galore, just sans the tubby bass.
Most speakers are skewed chubby in the bass to grab your attention. H520 is taut and well balanced instead. If you’re familiar with the size of image and air produced by Magnepans, but want it in a diminutive tower, H520 is a wonderful option.
