Model 50 is a full analog integrated amp with a 70 w/ch class A/B amplifier design. Model 50 has inputs of MM and four high level RCAs. It has one set of pre outs and one sub out. It supports speakers A & B.
For best audio purity with an eye on phono in particular, Model 50 doesn’t have a built in DAC or Bluetooth. No need to sweat it though, those features are included in CD50N.
Marantz CD50N CD Player/Streamer $1800
CD50N starts out as a well built red book CD player. It doesn’t play SACDs or video formats. CD50N starts by playing your discs at a high level with a 32b Sabre DAC on board.
CD50N has Marantz’s Heos streaming technology and Bluetooth built in. When used as a 50 Series combo, Model 50 and CD50N provide a magnificent package of outstanding audio and valuable features.
No, the 50s aren’t as good as the 30s for a host of reasons. But the 50s land at roughly half the price if you buy them as the intro package price!
